Dr. Christopher Sun is an American minister with Chinese heritage, born in 1953. Christopher Sun received a Bachelor degree in Architecture from Chung Yuan Christian University in 1977, the Master of Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley in 1980, the Master of Arts degree in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1984, and Doctor of Philosophy from the California Graduate School of Theology in 1987.
Dr. Christopher Sun was married to Shirley Chen in 1977. Brought up in Lutheran and Presbyterian churches respectively, their wedding was officiated by Bishop Rev. Stanley Tung of the Lutheran Church. By the grace of God, they have one son and one daughter.
Pastor Sun served and preached in Baptist and Evangelical churches from 1980 through 1984, and has since been invited to preach in churches of various denominations, in universities, and seminaries around the world. His first evangelistic meeting was held in 1983, in the chapel of the Van Nuys Baptist Church, California.
Beginning as a California licensed architect and Member of the American Institute of Architects, Dr. Sun gave up his career many years ago to serve the Lord as a full-time minister of the Gospel. His wife also gave up her career as a Certified Public Accountant to fully support this ministry. Dr. Sun was ordained to the work of the Gospel ministry in the presence of a pastoral group led by the then 91 years old Rev. Wesley Wang, the Rev. Micah Leo, and three other pastors. The Ordination Service was held in the Sunday Worship on March 3, 1991, in California.
Dr. Sun founded the "Kingdom of God Ministry" in 1984, in California, as a non-profit organization, and doing business as the "Christopher Sun Evangelistic Association". By the grace of God, Dr. Sun has held evangelistic meetings in auditoriums, coliseums and stadiums in many cities around the world, all to the glory of God.
